Kindling Threads
— Built to last, made to repair —

Materials
& Care.

Three fabrics, sourced thoughtfully and finished in small batches. Care for them well and they should be wearable for many years.

Organic Cotton Jersey

Our Studio tees are 180 GSM mid-weight jersey from GOTS-certified organic cotton, grown without synthetic pesticides or fertilizers. Spun and knitted in Portugal. Soft from the first wear and tends to soften further over the first ten washes without losing shape.

Heavyweight Cotton (Vintage Line)

Our Vintage tees use 220 GSM combed cotton, also organic, with a slightly more structured drape. The heavier hand holds graphic prints crisply for longer and stands up to repeated wear.

Inks & Dyes

All prints use water-based and discharge inks rather than plastisol — softer to the touch, lower-VOC, and they don’t crack or peel with age. Garment dyeing uses OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified dyes; rinse water is reclaimed at the mill.

Care Instructions

Machine wash cold (30°C / 86°F) with like colors. Tumble dry low or hang to dry — air-drying extends the life of the garment by years. Iron on cool if needed; turn graphic tees inside out before ironing. Do not bleach. Do not dry-clean.

Repair, Don’t Replace

A small hole or loose seam isn’t the end of the shirt. If something fails on us (seam tear, dye irregularity), email us a photo within 60 days and we’ll replace it or refund. For ordinary wear-and-tear after the warranty window, we recommend a local sewing repair service — cheaper than a new tee and the shirt keeps its character.

Certifications

GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) on the cotton. OEKO-TEX Standard 100 on the dyes and inks. Fair Wear Foundation on the workshop. We’re happy to share documentation on request.
